Hoover Vacuum Cleaners – A Trusted Name

Hoover vacuum cleaners have been around since 1907 — a very long time!  And Hoover’s long success is all attributed to a janitor who came up with an innovative idea to clean carpets.  Since those humble beginnings, Hoover has established itself as one of the most recognizable brands in the country.

Not one to rest on their laurels, engineers at Hoover have been constantly testing, tweaking and coming up with new and improved ways to build a better vacuum.  It was Hoover who invented the “beater bar”, a feature found on most vacuum cleaners manufactured today.

The think-tanks at Hoover were also the first to come up with the idea of using disposable paper dust bags.  Other innovations pioneered by Hoover are the headlight, the self-propelling model, and a side mounted hose.

Recently, Hoover was acquired by TTI Floor Care, the same folks who manufacture the Dirt Devil.  Hoover sells a wide variety of uprights in mass-market retailers, with models ranging in price from $50 to $300.

Hoover makes a vacuums for a variety of preferences and cleaning chores.  Hoover has vacuum models for hand and stick vacuums, canister models, deep cleaners, central vacuums, bare-floor cleaners, and an outdoor sweeper.  Hoover designs vacuum cleaners for both commercial and residential use.

Consumer reports recently put vacuum models to the test and in the Canister Vacuum Division they found the Hoover WindTunnel S3670 to be a “Best Buy”.  CR reports that this is a very good canister vacuum.  It excelled at cleaning bare floors and while keeping emissions low.  The WindTunnel canister is listed around $300.

CR also designated the “Best Buy” to another Hoover canister model, Hoover WindTunnel Bagless S3765-040.  Consumer Reports determined that this canister model is ‘very good’ and ‘excelled’ at cleaning bare floors and provided excellent air flow for the attachment tools.  The bagless WindTunnel cost around $250.

Also tested were popular upright models.  Once again, Hoover vacuum cleaners proved their metal in head-to-head competition.

Earning a “Best Buy” recommendation was the Hoover WindTunnel Anniversary Edition U6485-900.  Testing proved that this newer Hoover model “excelled in cleaning both carpets and bare floors and at cleaning with tools. It was also excellent at keeping its emissions low”.  Testing did show that the mode is “fairly noisy” though.  Prices for the Hoover WindTunnel Anniversary Edition are around $230.

Another Hoover vacuum model that tested well is the Hoover WindTunnel Anniversary Edition Bagless U5786-900.  This bagless unit was awarded the “Recommended” title by Consumer Reports.

Weighing in at 21 pounds, this Hoover upright model has manual pile-height adjustment and incorporates HEPA filtration.   Prices range from $140 – $175.

Hoover vacuum cleaners are now the industry standard in both consumer and commercial applications. Today, Hoover offers a wide range of vacuum cleaners, including one that will be just right for your needs.

Hoover vacuum cleaners are well-built and dependable and are still the best selling cleaners in the U.S.  Hoover vacuum cleaners also known and respected for their quality and attention to detail throughout the world.
